For many years, I have been committed to children’s charities in developing countries. If you look around the world, it is easy to see many people, and children, who live in impoverished and disadvantaged conditions.

Education, for them, is a luxury; it is also their only chance to escape poverty. MyHope, with the support of sponsors, wishes to give as many Ethiopians an education as possible and thus afford them a chance to have a better life. My son Bernd has already visited his sponsored child, Leul, in Addis Ababa. He lives in the unimaginable conditions with his mother who suffers from AIDS. Our sponsorship contribution allows him not only to attend school, but also gives his mother some of her needed medications. It is this kind of work that brings to families like these a sense of hope. This is the motivation for my work.
